Ribera del Duero wine region

Ribera del Duero Wine Region

If you are traveling in Spain by car, an exciting wine country trip is a visit to one of the finest red wine regions of the world, the Ribera del Duero (“bank of the Duero”). This region is about 100 miles directly north of Madrid. The prominent grape is Tempranillo but called Tinto Fino or Tinto de Pais in this region. The most famous stretch of wineries are often referred to as Spain’s miracle mile. These are the bodegas located on Highway N 122, with the town of Peñafiel at the center. The city of Aranda de Duero is the capital city of the Ribera del Duero wine region. It is famous for underground caves that interconnect under the streets of the city. It is definitely worth a a visit if you are in the area of this famous wine town. There are close to 200 wineries in Ribera del Duero. The wineries we suggest are easily accessible and offer a wide experience for
the visitor.
