Ribera del Duero Lodging in area towns and cities

Many of the great bodegas of Ribera del Duero are found on what is called the “Golden Mile.” This is Highway N-122 between the wine towns of Peñafiel and Aranda de Duero. It is about a half-hour ride between the two towns. Much more of course, if you stop along the way to visit the bodegas. Isn’t that why you came to Ribera del Duero?

The closest lodging to the Ribera Del Duero are in these two towns of Penafiel and Aranda de Duero. See our recommendations below. You can also lodge in the larger city of Burgos. It is north of Aranda de Duero, about an hour away. If you stay in Burgos, you also have the option of a short travel distance to Rioja, the other great wine region of Spain.   It is one hour from Burgos to Rioja and the famous wine town of Haro. Making Burgos your home base could be a wise idea for visiting both regions. That is exactly what we did when we visited the Spanish wine country in 2007. We stayed at the Hotel Abba in Burgos. Fantastic!
